Each year, dancers have the opportunity to become part of Movement Arts' reimagined production of The Nutcracker—a full-scale holiday performance that brings together classical ballet, fresh choreography and the history of San Luis Obispo.

Before registering for auditions, please read the entire Nutcracker Parent Audition Packet carefully. It contains important information for both dancers and parents about participating in the 2026 production.
The packet includes audition eligibility, age-group audition times and required attire; participation fees and financial assistance; parent volunteer requirements; rehearsal schedules and attendance policies; mandatory Theater Week dates; performance dates; and important deadlines.
It also explains the additional requirements for dancers interested in auditioning for the SLOMAC Dance Company, which is open to qualified dancers in 7th grade and above.
Please review all six pages before audition day, as participation requires a significant rehearsal and performance commitment, including mandatory Theater Week rehearsals.
